Meditation guide / Hypnosis?

Posted by admin in relaxation hypnosis on 06 24th, 2010

Hi,
my question is about an Audio track – meditation guide/ hypnosis.
How do I know if a relaxation audio is a hypnosis thing?
I listened to it last night and felt great relaxation.
I felt great at the time but now I’m a bit freaked out that I may have been hypnotised?
If I was, is it detrimental to me? WHat are the dangers with hypnosis?
How do I know if it was just a meditation?
Is this kind of thing safe?
What is the difference between meditation and hypnosis?

Every time you "zone out" you’re in hypnosis.

Every time you watch a movie and get into it you’re in hypnosis.

Every time you succumb to an advertisement you’re proving hypnosis.

It’s nothing to freak out about.

Relax and enjoy the altered states of mind you discover within yourself.

Your brain is very powerful, but if you’re mentally healthy you’re unlikely to injure yourself with it.

I’m thinking of trying certain types of Alternative Medicines?

Posted by admin in relaxation hypnosis on 06 22nd, 2010

The ones I’m thinking about are:

1. Acupuncture (back issues)
2. Chinese Herbs (multiple reasons)
3. Natural Foods
4. Yoga (Flexibility)
5. Hypnosis (For Relaxation and Cleansing my Mind)

I was wondering if you could comment on these.

My parents attest to Chinese herbs helping on minor health issues and acupuncture helping their back. Also, my mom attests to natural food giving her more energy. I had a friend try yoga and says it gives her more flexibility, though it hurts a lot. I have actually once been hypnotized into a very light trance and found it soothing, but was told that if I was hypnotized into a deep trance, I would experience greater relaxation and I could work on cleansing my mind.

I’ve tried all of them- all very healthy. Acupuncture can relieve pain, and promote healing. Food is what fuels your body and mind, so the healthier the better. Yoga is good for mind/body, and hypnosis works to relax the mind, and put positive thoughts into action. Chinese herbs can be more potent than medicines, so seek an experienced herbalist.

Can somebody help me find this relaxation audio tape?

Posted by admin in relaxation hypnosis on 06 20th, 2010

Ok it was on youtube sometime ago but it was deleted for some reason and I can’t find the user who had it. It mentions in the beginning to not play it in any vehicle or a place that would be dangerous. It’s a voice of an older man I’m guessing and it gets deeper and deeper as it goes on and it starts a countdown from 100 to 0 in the middle or it. The voice just gets froggier and froggier kind of like the emperor in star wars hahaha. Please somebody help me find this!!! I remember the title having relaxation and hypnosis in it.

There are a ton of relxation videos on youtube, it would be hard to find this one if the original was deleted and you don’t know the title.

Is it necessary to break down the cognitive functioning of a person to place them into hypnosis?

Posted by admin in relaxation hypnosis on 06 19th, 2010

is this done by questioning the person regarding their past life and asking them to recall incidents clearly?

is it sometimes helpful to aid their relaxation by alcohol or depressents?

why and how so?

does it also help for you to maybe help them lighten up by telling jokes, etc?
maybe even showing your own child like nature?

why and how so?

thanks for your answers!

To answer your original question, no. Trance can be induced in many different ways and no, alcohol or depressants are not useful. Why would you want to ask the ego about a persons ‘past life’? That is a major assumption that there is such a thing. It’s better if you are a beginner to simply use a progressive relaxation technique. If you are funny and put people at ease by telling jokes, go ahead. But honestly people don’t need to be relaxed to go into trances. It’s a very natural occurrence.

I bought a self hypnosis CD for birth preparation. Can I listen to it yet?

Posted by admin in relaxation hypnosis on 06 17th, 2010

I am 28 weeks pregnant. It says on the instructions to listen from 32 weeks onwards, without any other explanation. This company has other CD’s for relaxation during pregnancy, suitable for earlier than 32 weeks. Do you think they are just promoting their own products or would it be safe to listen to my CD from earlier than 32 weeks?

Hello Maggie

It would be hard to say without knowing what the subconscious commands where.

Have you listened to the tape yet? You will be ok – just skip the Inducation (physical relax) & any deepening journey that it yakes you on & listen to the commands that it gives that should help you to understand why?

As I can hear the CD & I can’t email you with my email address. If you wish you can listen as suggested, pop into the group below & you can mail me what you find – I will mail you back as soon as I can Maggie. Ot visit www.holisticpathstowisdom.co.uk & mail from there.

Hypnosis does not work on me?

Posted by admin in relaxation hypnosis on 06 16th, 2010

Many people have tried to hypnotize me,hypnotherapist, and professionals.
So in my opinion i do not think its true at all.Im not talking about no little shitty relaxation hypnosis,im talking about induction where im doing something that im not aware of,like i see on the tv.I dont even get tranced or nothing. All i get is a man swinging a clock looking like an idiot.Any help on this topic???
I try to close my eyes and be serious about it,and nothing is achievable. The closest i got to subconsciousness is lucid dreaming

Some people are less suggestible than others or may be too analytical and focused on the process rather than the end result. This can interfere with the induction process. However, a good hypnotist can improve the odds for you by using a customized induction that is in sync with your main modality as well as a good pre-induction talk. How do you feel about hypnosis? Is it really the work of the devil?

Posted by admin in relaxation hypnosis on 06 15th, 2010

Or is it just a method used commonly for relaxation? Im curious!

I don’t think it is of the devil, but I do believe it can be used for bad. I would be very cautious of who I would let speak ideas into my brain. Even those with "good intentions" could do much damage under hypnosis. If you are contemplating getting hypnosis done, I would encourage you to research and look for reviews and find out specific beliefs of the person who will be doing your hypnosis. I would not take hypnosis lightly, or believe at face value that the person performing the hypnosis believes along the same lines as you and/or has your best interest at heart.

How do I become successful with hypnosis?

Posted by admin in relaxation hypnosis on 06 8th, 2010

I just recently bought some hypnosis downloads to overcome shyness and i just wanted to know how to get in a state of deep relaxation to allow the suggestions to attack my sub conscious mind. How often should I listen to the audio sessions? Serious answers Please. Thank you.

I’ve been involved in hypnosis since the 1990s and I have been trained by one of the best in the world. Here’s my view:

The download that you purchased, if it is any good, should guide you into a trance. There is nothing special you need to do. You clearly have the desire to change, and you’ve taken action by opening your wallet to buy something to help. Just listen to the CD / MP3 often, I would say a few times per week. More than once per day is unnecessary.

In addition, I highly suggest learning some NLP techniques to help you enter a positive state "on demand". This can be done on your own, without trance, and has instant results.

The Peak Performance CD by Mike Mandel is outstanding, but is simply ONE suggestion. Otherwise, you can buy books on the topic of NLP from Amazon, etc.

How to know that I am relaxed while doing Self Hypnosis?

How to know that I am relaxed while doing Self Hypnosis?I get confused regarding the state of relaxation.

Relaxed muscles, your breathing slows down, that sort of thing.

how inportant is relaxation in hypnosis?

Posted by admin in relaxation hypnosis on 06 5th, 2010

Most hypnosis inductions use relaxation to access parts of the mind that are suppressed in normal daily life. But there are techniques that work with out relaxation at all. For example the Milton Erickson handshake induction uses an interrupt instead of relaxation. Another good example is Derren Brown using a public telephone to induce passers by into catatonic sleep. His method is a confusion overload of conflicting commands ending with something like "sleep now."
